Flat Lab

  • Flat Lab full of computers, printers and scanners.

The Flat Lab is an Open Access lab for students enrolled in art classes, faculty and staff. The lab is stocked with computers, printers and scanners for educational, non-commercial purposes. 

Everyone will begin with a balance of $5, and can add more funds to their account at the Cave during open hours. 

Printing Costs

Canon imagePROGRAF (all models): $1/sq. ft. (B&W or color)
Epson: Same pricing as the Canon; this printer will retire soon.
Laser:
            B&W:
 8 cents (1-sided), 14 cents (2-sided)
            Color: 10 cents (1-sided), 18 cents (2-sided)

RISO: $1/master

NOTE: Copy paper is provided for the laser printer, but paper is not provided for the Canon imagePROGRAFs, Epson, or RISO.

Users can check their balance using their MyID login here: Flat Lab Balance.

Faculty seeking to reserve the lab for class or to add extra funds for students should email cave@uga.edu.

The Lamar Dodd School of Art Flat Lab, launched in spring of 2018, accommodates the large-format printing needs of our creative faculty, staff and students. The Flat Lab features a fleet of state-of-the-art Canon and Epson printers, scanners, and Mac desktop workstations fully equipped with the Adobe Creative Suite. Our skilled lab technicians offer assistance and lab maintenance to help facilitate an experience of creative exploration and independence.
